Now or Never has launched this weekend in Melbourne and is running until 2 September with 300 local and international artists sharing their creative passions. Now or Never is billed as the ‘newest digital art and future thinking festival’ for the city and is being held across indoor and outdoor spaces, including a 360° pop-up dome cinema!
Events to enjoy include the Art Trail which is a free and family friendly outdoor 1.2km walk at Docklands with artworks by Michaela Gleave, Jarra Karalinar Steel and Jon McCormack, alongside performances by Theatre of Thunder, an interactive installation by Georgie Pinn, and video works by Universal Everything (UK) and Justine Emard (Fr).
The dome is called the ‘Neversphere’ and it’s on show at the Melbourne Museum forecourt where you can relax on a bean-bag and take in the ever-evolving visuals. The space is also hosting a multi-sensory dining experience.
There will also be intriguing musical and audio-visual experiences at the Royal Exhibition Building, a special program of hybrid of live and digital art taking over ACMI after hours and a series of talks to enrich your mind.
