Sculpture by the Sea 2023 is coming to the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk, Sydney, very soon. Opening 20 October and running until 6 November this is the 25th iteration of the much loved event which since 1997 has exhibited 2,582 sculptures by 1,233 artists from 51 countries.
More than 100 sculptures will be on display from 65 Australian and 40 international artists in the world’s largest free to the public sculpture exhibition. Leading Chinese artists Chen Wenling and Shen Lieyi will share their work as well as a dozen artists from Japan and Nazar Bilyk from Ukraine.
In addition to your adventure in the great outdoors we encourage you to explore ‘Sculpture Inside’, a free and indoor presentation of small sculptures from emerging, mid-career and established Australian and international artists. The show will be held halfway through the walk in a marquee in Marks Park, and all the works are for sale.
The team at Sculpture by the Sea have devised a useful map, follow the blue line if you’re not comfortable with stairs or the red line if you are comfortable with some stairs, moderate slopes and walking over 1km.
We hope you enjoy the show!
