After coming to Sydney to study postgraduate Art History, Yvett Klein volunteered as a translator and writer at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, before applying for a position with Bonhams — sharing they were looking to establish an Asian art department in Australia. “In a sense I grew with the department,” Klein says.

A virtual world of art and historical discovery

I think it is feasible to say that to conquer the challenges we face during these surreal and unnerving times it is important to keep our mind, body and spirit energised. We’ll need exercise, fresh air, sunshine, good food, connection to our loved ones, work if we can, a sense of humour and of course art, culture and entertainment to captivate us in creative exploration.

Breaking Glass at Carriageworks, 28 March – 4 April

Breaking Glass marks a new wave for Australian opera, one that resists the classical notions of a male-centric perspective. Sydney Chamber Opera are working in partnership with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s ‘Composing Women Program’ to present new technologies and music by female composers.
