The curators said: ‘We share a commitment to supporting generations of emerging artists and we are thrilled to present this important award. The outstanding finalists represent the vibrant and diverse artistic community across NSW.’

Emily Parsons-Lord on her work ‘A raging event of continual noise (the Sun) v2’. The artist says ‘The “star” is potassium powder, basically, a smoke bomb. I get the unique colour signature from the star’s light and recreate it using potassium powder and colour into the ratio of colour elements in the star’s light. I have collaborated with some astronomers to apprehend the specific star’s light.’
