Terra inFirma: Sovereignty and Memory, The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre

The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre has been working with First Nations and culturally diverse artists on the development of a two-part exhibition series ‘Terra inFirma’, which draws on personal and shared stories of history, heritage and identity, exploring the consequences of colonisation on First Nations Peoples and communities from the Asia Pacific region, who live in Blacktown.

Bell Shakespeare celebrates three decades with ‘The Bell Debates’

In celebration of Bell Shakespeare’s 30th anniversary in 2020 a new series of online conversations titled ‘The Bell Debates’ have been announced. Teams of prominent Australians working across a range of industries will go head to head in provocative debate to explore the relevance of a selection of Shakespeare’s quotes.

Meyne Wyatt wins 2020 Archibald ‘Packing Room Prize’

We congratulate West Australian Sydney-based Wongutha-Yamatji artist, writer and actor Meyne Wyatt, on winning the 2020 Archibald ‘Packing Room Prize’ for his self-portrait titled Meyne. Wyatt is the first Indigenous artist to ever be awarded a prize in the annual event’s 99-year history, and he is a first-time ‘Archibald Prize’ entrant.
